Across Australia a network of licensed wildlife carers who dedicate significant time, effort and resources into rescuing and rehabilitating injured and orphaned kangaroos. Many of the kangaroos that come into care are the victims of commercial and non-commercial shooters such as joeys that are not able to survive without their mothers.
These rehabilitators take on the enormous task in raising kangaroo joeys, drawing on a considerable level of expertise and experience. This role requires dedication and time, because raising an orphaned joey can take two years until it is ready to be released into the wild.
